Mel’s Senior Session at Newfields Garden | Indianapolis Senior Photographer

When Mel’s mom first reached out, we knew this session needed to feel like her. As an Indianapolis senior photographer, I always want every session to reflect personality, confidence, and this once-in-a-lifetime milestone.

We talked through a few ideas—studio, downtown, or something more natural. In the end, we chose Newfields Garden in Indianapolis, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

If you’ve never been to Newfields Garden, it truly feels like a dream. The vibrant flowers, peaceful paths, and beautiful landscaping create the perfect setting for senior photos in Indianapolis.

As we walked through the gardens, every corner gave us something new. Because of that, Mel’s gallery felt full of variety while still staying soft, elegant, and timeless.

As an Indianapolis photographer, I love locations like this because they allow seniors to feel relaxed while still creating stunning, elevated images.

A Natural in Front of the Camera

Mel is a senior at Avon High School in Avon, Indiana, and you would never guess this was her first professional session.

From the start, she felt confident and comfortable. Not only did she move naturally, but she also brought such a calm, genuine energy to every photo.

Because of that, her personality truly shines through in every image.

For seniors across Hendricks County, Brownsburg, Plainfield, and Indianapolis, this is always my goal—to create a space where you feel like yourself.

A Beautiful Tribute to Her Mexican Heritage

One of the most meaningful parts of this session was when Mel incorporated a colorful sash gifted by her mom.

The vibrant colors were a beautiful nod to her Mexican heritage. As a result, these images felt even more personal and powerful.

I always encourage seniors to bring elements that reflect who they are. Whether it’s culture, hobbies, or personal style, those details make your session unique.

Future Plans and Big Dreams

During the session, Mel shared that she’s considering a future in the medical field. At the same time, she’s also thinking about joining the U.S. Army.

As someone who has served, this part of our conversation meant a lot to me. No matter which path she chooses, she has the strength and determination to succeed.
