Indianapolis Senior Photographer | Ashley’s Indiana State House & Indiana University Downtown Indy Graduation Session
July 25, 2026

Graduation is more than earning a degree—it’s celebrating every late night, every challenge, and every milestone that led to this moment. As an Indianapolis Senior Photographer, documenting Ashley’s Indianapolis State House Indiana University Downtown Indy Grad Senior Photography Session was incredibly special because this wasn’t our first time celebrating together. It truly feels like yesterday we were capturing her high school senior photos, and now she’s graduating from Indiana University with her associate’s degree. Even more exciting, she’ll be heading back to school next year to pursue her master’s degree. Watching clients grow through life’s biggest milestones is one of the greatest parts of being an Indianapolis photographer.
Some sessions hold a little extra meaning, and Ashley’s graduation session was definitely one of them.
I still remember photographing her high school senior portraits and celebrating the beginning of her next chapter. Fast forward a few years, and here we were again—this time walking through downtown Indianapolis to celebrate everything she has accomplished since then.
Graduating with an associate’s degree from Indiana University is an incredible achievement, and knowing she’s already planning to continue her education makes this milestone even more inspiring.
Seeing clients come back through different seasons of life is something I’ll never take for granted.

The Indiana State House is one of my favorite locations for graduation and senior portraits in downtown Indianapolis.
Its timeless architecture, grand marble staircases, and elegant columns create a classic look that never goes out of style. Whether you’re celebrating high school, college, or graduate school, this location photographs beautifully in every season.
One of the best parts about downtown Indianapolis is the variety it offers. Within just a short walk, we were able to create multiple looks while keeping Ashley’s graduation gallery elegant and timeless.
As an Indianapolis Senior Photographer, I love recommending locations that feel both iconic and personal.
One of my favorite parts of this session wasn’t just the beautiful portraits—it was realizing how quickly life moves.
It truly feels like yesterday we were planning Ashley’s high school senior session. Now she’s walking across the stage with her college degree and preparing for graduate school.
Moments like these remind me why photography matters.
Photographs allow us to look back, not only at how we looked but also at who we were in that season of life.
Ashley has grown so much over the years, and it has been an honor to document another incredible chapter of her story.
Congratulations, Ashley! I can’t wait to see where your master’s degree takes you next.

Graduation is one of life’s biggest accomplishments, yet it’s often celebrated for only a day.
Professional graduation portraits preserve that accomplishment forever.
Whether you’re graduating from Indiana University, another Indianapolis college, or a local high school, your graduation session deserves to tell your story.
Graduation sessions are perfect for celebrating:
Every milestone deserves to be remembered.
If you’re planning graduation photos in downtown Indianapolis, here are a few tips to make your session even better.
One outfit can highlight your graduation gown, while another shows your personal style after graduation.
Bring your cap, gown, stole, cords, diploma cover, honor cords, or anything that represents your accomplishments.
Golden hour creates soft, flattering light and gives your graduation gallery a warm, timeless feel.
Whether it’s the Indiana State House, your college campus, or another favorite spot around Indianapolis, Hendricks County, Avon, Brownsburg, or Plainfield, your location should reflect your journey.
I recommend booking your senior or graduation session 2–4 months in advance, especially during the busy spring and fall seasons. This gives you the best selection of dates and ensures enough time to receive your images before graduation announcements or celebrations.
Choose outfits that reflect your personality while remaining timeless. Neutral colors, classic pieces, and layers photograph beautifully. Be sure to bring your graduation cap, gown, and any cords or stoles that celebrate your accomplishments.
After your session, you’ll receive an online gallery where you can easily download your high-resolution images, share them with family and friends, and order professional prints and keepsakes.
Downtown Indianapolis offers incredible locations, including the Indiana State House, Monument Circle, White River State Park, Newfields, and Indiana University campuses. Choosing a location that reflects your story makes your session even more meaningful.
